What is VRC?
Since 2017,
The first Vision Rehabilitation Center (VRC) in Lebanon
Today, with its new addition, the VRC, Optique et Vision takes visual care to a higher level, specializing in cases such as “Low Vision”, learning difficulties, neurological issues among others.
Our comprehensive center offers specialized services and cutting edge technology to empower those with sever vision impairment, enabling them to optimize their remaining vision, enhance their independence, and improve their quality of life.

What is Low Vision?
Low Vision is the loss of eyesight that cannot be corrected with regular eyeglasses, contact lenses, medicine or surgery.
What Causes Low Vision?
There are many causes of low vision but the most common vision impairing conditions are: Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD), Diabetic retinopathy, Cataract, Retinitis Pigmentosa, Glaucoma, Stargadt’s Disease.

2) Tailored vision rehabilitation program
Our Vision rehabilitation program is for those with recent vision loss, are going blind, or have low vision. Our trained team offers all services, aiming to enhance your life by optimizing your remaining vision.
Our Rehab programs create a fresh perspective by training you to use alternative visual pathways instead of damaged areas like the macula.
According to the American Optometric Association 1 out of 4 children has an undetected vision problem related to eye movement control, eye coordination and visual perception that affects their ability to learn. These difficulties cannot be detected through typical vision screenings, but fortunately can be treated with the appropriate vision therapy.
What Solutions Do We Have?
At the VRC, we identify and treat binocular vision issues through non-surgical programs. This includes RightEye* training, boosting comfort and efficient daily eye use. Our programs aid students,enhancing academic performancethrough improved supported vision care.
Our center can provide customized contact lenses, tailored to your vision needs, and comfort. Our skilled team fits lenses for all ages, even for the most complex conditions like Corneal Dystrophies (i.e. Keratoconus , PMD, Post-refractive and graft complications, etc.), High Refractive errors (such as astigmatism), Pediatric conditions, Presbyopia, Postsurgical and Dry Eye Syndrome.
Our Speciality Contact Lenses :
1) Soft contact lenses:
These different soft lenses are made from softer more flexible materials that conform to the shape of the eye:
- For spherical and cylindrical corrections, lenses can be used to correct nearsightedness or farsightedness when the eye is spherical, or equal in all meridians of the eye. Cylindrical lenses address astigmatism.
- Multifocal lenses: have multiple prescription in one lens, targeting vision at different distances.
- Bandage lenses: shield and aid the healing or injured corneas by preventing mechanical rubbing of blinking eyelid, allowing it to heal.
- Pediatric lenses: cater to children’s specific needs.
2) Prosthetic contact lenses:
Provides cosmetic, therapeutic, and psychological benefits to patients to conceal a disfigurement and/or to provide therapeutic aid to sighted eyes for better quality of life.
3) Hybrid lenses:
Rigid gas permeable lens (GP) that corrects the astigmatism, combined with a soft lens surrounding it.
4) Rigid Gas Permeable lenses:
Rigid lenses made of durable plastics that allow oxygen to pass through the lens.
5) Scleral lenses:
Large-diameter gas permeable contact lenses for Keratoconus and other eye problems.
6) Orthokeratology lenses:
A type of rigid gas-permeable contact lens worn at night to gently and temporarily reshape the cornea that can improve vision.
What is Myopia?
Is your child glued to the TV? More kids are becoming nearsighted daily. By 2020, it is estimated that 50% of the world’s population will be myopic – seeing nearby objects well, but distant ones like classroom whiteboard blurred.
What causes Myopia?
- Heredity, ethnicity, and family background
- Under or over-corrected vision
- Increased exposure to close work especially at a younger age: reading, playing video games, using smartphones and tablets
What solutions do we have?
Luckily, at VRC, there are several ways to slow the progression of myopia such as:
1) Multifocal glasses
Often multifocal glasses can help your children become less nearsighted in adulthood than single vision glasses.
2) Multifocal soft contact lenses
Multifocals are designed to help your children see well at various distances, especially as they age.
3) Orthokeratology
By using a rigid gas permeable contact lens, the front surface of your child’s eye can be gently reshaped while he/she sleeps. He/she can enjoy clear vision the next day, contact lenses or glasses free.

Our Specialized Glasses Target 3 Main Types of Color Deficiencies :
- Deuteranomaly/ Deteranopia : reffered as "red-green" color blindness that affect a broad range of colors.
